OXFORD, U.K. – August 9, 2018; Sophos (LSE: SOPH), a global leader in network and endpoint security, today announced that Gartner, Inc., has positioned Sophos as a Visionary in its inaugural 2018 Magic Quadrant for Unified Endpoint Management Tools (1). The new Magic Quadrant focuses on tools which combine the management of multiple endpoint types from a single console.
According to Gartner, unified endpoint management (UEM) refers to a new class of tools that can act as a single management interface for mobile, PC, and other devices. Gartner believes infrastructure and operations leaders should expect and plan to replace enterprise mobility management and client management tools with UEM to support modern OSs.
“As the proliferation of iOS and Android devices continues, organizations need an integrated approach to device protection to reduce the potential entry points and weak links a cybercriminal can exploit to infiltrate a network. iOS and Android endpoints represent a significant threat to corporate security due to the difficulty of identifying and managing every connection to the network. We believe that Gartner’s placement of Sophos in the Visionary quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Unified Endpoint Management demonstrates its capabilities as a fully-fledged UEM and security service that can help to reduce the time and effort required by organizations to manage and secure every endpoint that connects to the network,” commented Dan Schiappa, senior vice president and general manager of products at Sophos. “Sophos is the only dedicated IT security vendor to be included in this report, and the only one with endpoint protection driven by deep learning technology. Sophos plans to introduce a predictive security layer to all endpoints, giving customers secure, productive working environments for all devices and users.”
Sophos Mobile is the only UEM service that integrates natively with a leading next-gen endpoint security platform and enables IT Administrators to manage and secure every MacOS, Windows, and mobile endpoint from the Sophos Central admin dashboard. This streamlined approach to security management helps both administrators and users save time and effort, improving productivity across the business. As multi-device usage grows in frequency, the ability to centrally control and view policy and platform upgrades from one console enhances efficacy of end-user support and gathering of workplace analytics.
